Health Quest︱A Self-Adaptive Personalized Behavior Change System for Adolescent Preventive Healthcare

Health Quest is a self-adaptive personalized behavior change environment for adolescent preventive health.

Abstract:

Health Quest is a self-adaptive personalized behavior change environment for adolescent preventive health. In Health Quest, teens become active participants in dynamically unfolding interactive narratives that address preventive care during a mumps epidemic in the school . Players adopt the role of a teenage protagonist who participates in the investigation of the mumps outbreak and develop preventive techniques in order to prevent fellow students from contracting g the disease. . Players interact with a cast of virtual characters who model a broad range of health behaviors, and the outcomes for the protagonist, his/her friends, and the story line are actively shaped by the player’s decisions.

Responsibilities:

During the course of the project I was tasked with the creation of character variation for the in-house character creator. The project lead Kirby Culberston, would provide the base models for the characters and with software Autodesk Maya I would make physical alteration to the models in order to mimic what the geometry is suppose to resemble. After this process, then the models would be re-UVed, for the new textures will be displayed correctly. The model is then package as a OBJ file and sent to Pixologic ZBrush and is sculpted further and then polypainted to create the new textures. Finally, the the ZBrush polypaint and sculpt information is sent back to Autodesk Maya for they can be applied onto a mesh with less geometry.
